Worship at St. George’s

Worship at St. George’s church blends traditional with modern with a focus on helping people encounter God through the Sacraments and preaching the word. We use both traditional hymns and modern songs in our worship. Our services follow the liturgy of Common Worship.

Morning Prayer

Morning Prayer, using the Church of England Daily Prayer, is celebrated at St. George’s on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8am. This is a quiet, prayerful way to start the day: with the liturgy based on the Book of Common Prayer, readings from Psalms, the Old Testament and the New Testament and a space for open prayer.

Holy Communion

St. George’s celebrates Holy Communion at the following times:

1st Sunday of the month: 8:30am in the chapel (said service)

2nd Sunday of the month: 10:00am Parish Communion (with music)

4th Sunday of the month: 10:00am Parish Communion (with music)

5th Sunday of the month is a Benefice Communion shared with our sister church, St. Peter & St. John.

Every Thursday at 9:30am in the chapel (said service)

Services of the Word

Worship For All is our interactive and creative worship put together and led by our WFA. team. It is suitable for people of all ages, including children, and often involves some undemanding, and usually fun, participation by the congregation. It is at 10am on the first Sunday of every month.

Morning Worship is a service of morning prayer with hymns and songs suitable for all.

1st Sunday of the month: 10:00am Worship for All

3rd Sunday of the month: 10:00am Morning Worship
